Our Process
We Plan
Our single focus is helping you fund a happy and successful retirement.
Our Process:
Discover, Discuss, Analyze, Advise, Act
Step 1 - Discovery Call
This 20-minute phone or Zoom call will give us a chance to ensure we are able to help with your specific questions and needs.
We will ask you: What questions or concerns do you have? How can we help?
We will answer: Who are we best able to serve? What is our process? What and how do we charge for our services?
If we aren't a good fit for you, we can introduce you to a firm that might be able to better serve you.
Step 2 - First Meeting
This is a complimentary meeting where we will ask all about you, your situation, and your current financial plans.
We will ask you to prepare answers to a few questions ahead of time, and begin collecting financial and legal documents we will need to review after our meeting.
Step 3 - Our Analysis & First Draft of Financial Plans
With the information from our meeting and your documents, we will prepare and send you a set of initial observations and recommendations we believe could improve your financial situation.
We will prepare answers for questions such as:
-
What type of retirement can I afford?
-
How do I lower my lifetime tax bill?
-
What things would jeopardize my retirement, and how can I plan for or protect against them?
-
What changes should I consider to my investment portfolio?
If we believe we can be a valuable partner for you, we will also invite you to become a client and detail how to proceed when you're ready.
Step 4 - Second Meeting
Once you're ready to move forward, we will have a second meeting to review our initial set of observations and recommendations, and will take them each in turn until we have together created a set of plans that we both feel confident will best help you meet your goals.
We will walk away with clarify on what the next right thing is for your situation and how to start implementing your plans immediately.
After this meeting, we will continue with our routine client service schedule, detailed below.
Step 5 - Ongoing Planning
We meet every six months in the spring and in the fall to review your financial plans and make adjustments depending on changes to your personal situation or larger financial factors such as markets, tax legislation, and economic projections.
It's typical that each meeting season we focus on one or two primary categories of your financial plans: retirement income, investments, taxes, insurance, and estate plans. With this rotation, we will have a focused time to discuss each topic and update plans roughly every two years.
